About
Meet Disco OdysseyDisco Odyssey features a group of highly experienced musicians, all of whom are passionate about music. The line up includes lead and backing vocals, keyboards, bass, guitar and drums. Why not come along to our next public gig so you can see and hear us play ‘live’.

Beckie
Lead Vocals
Beckie’s musical first love was jazz and soul, both classic Sinatra and contemporary artists such as Melody Gardot. Her involvement with other genres came from singing classic pop and rock covers with function band Jonah’s Wail. Beckie then moved into funky jazz and soul, singing lead vocals with local band Groove Agents.
Going full disco was a natural next step where her experience lends those classic dance tracks the energy and excitement that promise a great evening of non-stop dancing.

Barry
Lead Vocals & Guitar
Blessed with the most soulful of voices, Barry is a well known Kent musician whose versatility has allowed him to explore a wide range of musical genres – from soul, jazz and blues to rock, funk and pop and now disco! Barry is an accomplished guitarist and front-man and has many years experience in delivering great nights out for those interested in local live music.

Kyia
Lead Vocals
Kyia’s vocal journey began in church followed by singing in girl groups, R & B bands and numerous studio sessions. Fast forward to today and she has become one of the south east’s most in-demand vocalists, reminiscent of greats such as Aretha Franklin, Rose Royce and Beyonce.
Kyia gives every performance her all. She doesn’t just sing songs, she lives them!

Ranulf
Bass
After completing a degree in music technology, Ranulf spent a year at the Bass Institute in London where he came top of that year’s cohort. Since then he has been in demand as band member, dep player and session musician.
His funk rock band Kubla Khan achieved great success, he is a founder member of the Groove Agents and regularly plays with Kent heroes Project Five. Groove runs through his veins and through his bass for four string funk.

Peter
Guitar and Backing Vocals
Pete has been playing and teaching guitar in Kent for the last 25 years, founding the jazz funk band Over the Edge and the funky party band Groove Agents. Both of these bands are stalwarts of the Jazz on the Pantiles summer concerts and other local venues such as the Grey Lady.
Peter was delighted to be asked to join the Disco Odyssey project. He believes the thrill of live music is the sharing of an experience that is unique each night and the best way to do that is with a full dance floor.

Adam
Drums
Adam has been playing the drums since he was at school and is predominantly influenced by funk drumming, ‘digging’ the grooves of artists such as Level 42, EW&F, Jamiroquai, the Brand New Heavies and JTQ.
He has been a member of two leading British tribute bands – one to Fleetwood Mac and the other to Robbie Williams, playing at venues across the world from the Cayman Islands to Canvey Island. Adam also runs his own drum teaching business.

Mart
Keyboards
Martin was brought up in the west country on a strict diet of the blues. He has since expanded his musical repertoire to include jazz, rock, pop and now disco.
Over the years Martin has graced the stages of many top London venues including Ronnie Scotts and the Jazz Cafe. He loves playing to a live audience and sharing his passion for great music.
Martin lists Roy Ayres, Robert Glasper and Kamaal Williams among his many musical influences.
